Learning Syntax, Morphology and Basic Grammar through Authentic Literary Texts

[part of the panel "Spanish for Heritage Learners: Grammar and Writing in the SHL Classroom", 10:00am-11:00am]

This presentation reveals an efficient procedure to teach basic grammatical notions and terminology, syntax, and morphology to Spanish heritage learners through authentic literature. Using novels as a framework, students identify, analyze, and compare Spanish and English grammatical concepts vital to thrive in upper level linguistic classes.
