3. AAUSC @ MLA !!!

The AAUSC executive board is happy to report that the AAUSC has received allied status with the MLA.  As an allied organization, we are now guaranteed a session each year at the MLA meeting, and we also will receive time and space for a business meeting. 

The past year's session (2009), entitled New Structures for Educating Graduate Student Teachers included Hiram Maxim (presiding), Judith Liskin-Gasparro, Peter Pfeiffer, and Todd Reeser.

Our session at MLA 2011 (January ) will be organized by Fernando Rubio and Joshua Thoms. Check back soon for details of that panel. We look forward to seeing you at the MLA!

Fulbright Scholar Program and the Council for International Exchange of Scholars:

Grant opportunities available through the Fulbright Scholar Program.

March 1 is the opening of the Traditional Fulbright Scholar competition. Over 800 grants are available for lecturing, conducting research, or combining both in over 130 countries around the globe. The deadline is August 1. For information on Fulbright Scholar Awards, consult our website at http://www.cies.org for descriptions of awards and new eligibility requirements. If you are interested in requesting materials, please write to scholars@cies.iie.org.
